American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons
Founded in 1933, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons is the preeminent provider of musculoskeletal education to orthopaedic surgeons and others in the world. Its continuing medical education activities include a world-renowned Annual Meeting, multiple continuing medical education (CME) courses held around the country and at the Orthopaedic Learning Center (OLC), and various medical and scientific publications and electronic media materials.
Mobile design and development
AAOS engaged Red Foundry, in a mobile design and development project to make it easy for AAOS Members to give you quick access to their resources, peers, and tools that will help you build their orthopaedic knowledge and grow within the profession. Our goal was to simplify the member experience, so members can get back to what matters most – their patients.
Inside the project
- Extended Discovery and Design process, with a goal of demonstrating the value of a mobile app for members that would give quick access to the many member benefits granted to AAOS Members. This resulted in high-fidelity designs for the planned solution and a strategic roadmap for future releases.
- Mobile application developed using React Native – one codebase producing both iOS and Android Apps
- Multiple App Persona Support
- Integration with new Episerver Backend Service for Content Management
- Integration with Twilio for Member to Member communications
- Google Analytics
- CICD Process Support for multiple environments
- App Store setup, screenshots, and submission
- Continuing app care maintenance and follow-on releases
